Onesie Dresses
I wish that I had come up with this idea because it is genius! However, my mom found these onesie dresses on a blog a few years ago. She has modified it slightly but this tutorial gives a more in depth description. If you or someone you know has some sewing skills, this is an easy way to dress up your little girl!
Before my girls started crawling, they had long gowns with elastic at the bottom. This made for easy diaper changes! As they got older or the weather got warmer, my mom started making short dresses with a onesie top. It’s such an easy way to make them look “dressed up” but they are just wearing a comfy onesie!
There are a couple of changes that she made. There is not an elastic bottom in the short dresses. Also, she stopped putting the bows on the dresses, like the tutorial tells you to do. The tutorial says to cut the onesie before attaching but I prefer to leave the bottom because it then acts as a “diaper cover” and I think it stays in place better.
The gallery above has a few of the dresses we have had over the years. This has become one of my favorite gifts to give to friends because I love them so much!
