Small Bathroom Storage Solutions
We live in a smaller 1950’s house. While I love a lot of things about my house, one of the biggest downsides is that it does not have a private master bathroom. I currently share a bathroom with my 2 and 5 year old daughters. I have had to get creative over the years with storage solutions and these are some of my favorite products.
Stacking Bins
I bought these stacking bins last year and they were a game changer! Our bathroom vanity has two deep drawers which can hold a lot! However, without these bins you cannot find anything! These bins are inexpensive and come in a small, medium, and large size. I purchased 2 small and 2 large bins for each of my drawers. These could be used in the kitchen, linen closets, or just about anywhere! They are very sturdy.
The top drawer is able to hold toothpaste, hair products, hair brushes/combs, etc. I added some smaller cheaper bins to hold hair ties. These smaller bins are not as sturdy but they work and fit perfectly for what I need. I have had this system in place for a year and I have noticed a significant improvement in my ability to keep the vanity organized!
I do not have a large amount of makeup products, so I keep most of my makeup in that brown and pink striped bag. I love that when I travel that I can just throw it in my suitcase without worrying about if I forgot anything! My daughter’s play makeup is in that Pamper’s bag. They can grab it when they want to use it but it’s easy for them to put away.
Under the Sink Drawers
Under the sink is such and awkward place to organize, but in a small bathroom it is prime storage space! I added a Sterlite Storage Drawer to the bottom to hold my hair dryer, straightener, etc. My drawer is old but this is an updated version. There are quite a few sizes of these drawers available. I actually use four Sterlite drawers stacked together in my closet as an extra “dresser.”
The two-tier drawers that I stack on top of the plastic drawer have helped so much! I am able to fit so many hair and face products in here and I can still easily find things! My exact two-tier drawer is from Aldi but there are so many options available at Target and Amazon. Home Goods is another great option to shop for storage items. Be sure to measure your spaces ahead of time! It will save you a lot of headaches later!
Try to utilize as much space as possible. If you notice in the back right corner is a bag. There is actually quite a large gap between the end of the drawer and the cabinet, so I store extra makeup/travel bags back there. I don’t need to use them often but I know exactly where they are when needed!
Small bathroom storage can be a challenge but with some creative storage solutions, it can be very manageable!
